The mission of Big Lakes Developmental Center is to provide quality services and programs which promote independence, productivity, integration, and inclusion into the community for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Big Lakes Developmental Center, Inc. provides initial and ongoing training to our staff to ensure highest quality of services to our clients. As an employee, you will have the opportunity to receive core skills training in Leadership, Training and Development, Planning and Prioritization, Problem Solving and Communication along with technical job specific skills such as CPR/First Aid, Intro to Developmental Disabilities, Medication Administration, and the Mandt System on Building Relationships. Each employee is provided training to meet the goals set forth in their personal Development and Training Plan, which is revised each year of employment.

The Big Lakes Foundation was established in 1993 to support the programs and services of Big Lakes Developmental Center. With your gift to the Foundation, Big Lakes Developmental Center is able to continue to provide quality services and programs to individuals with developmental disabilities in Riley, Geary, Clay and Pottawatomie counties. Big Lakes Foundation, Inc., is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization.
